A day at Magnolia

This weekend was a fun but sad weekend. My sister, Morgan, dad, and I went to Waco, Tx to visit Magnolia on Saturday and my sister left the next day. She has an awesome job opportunity and is moving back to Kansas – our home state. I wanted to show you all of the fun and neat things about Magnolia. I didn’t want to flood my instagram with all the pictures; that is what a blog is for!

We enjoyed the sunshine for sure.

Loved these lawn chairs!!

The magnolia lawn!! They have swings, jump ropes, soccer balls, hula hoops, large jenga blocks and more. An awesome place to bring family and have a picnic.

My sis and I! Not a good idea to forget your sunglasses and sunscreen.

They did the barn raising the Thursday before we got there. This is what it is going to look like.

Loved all the food trucks. Got fresh squeezed juice and breakfast food for lunch.

Loved all the the fresh flowers and plants Jojo has around the place. This is by the bathrooms. Making them look and smell lovely. You know a bathroom needs all the help it can get when it comes to SMELL.

After we ate we went inside to shop. We all hoped to see Chip and Joanna but we didn’t get to. We did get to see Jo’s mom and she is such a sweet lady. The shop was packed with shoppers. So many people there that day. We also got some amazing popcorn to snack on while we shopped.

Look at all the people. We met a bunch of people. Some people travel far to come visit this spot.

We went shopping!!

We drove around afterwards to look at all the neat old buildings. We also found this wall of greens. So of course I had to get out and take a picture in front of it! My sister, dad and I took most of these pictures.

Happy Valentines Day!

image

Hope you all have a great day whether you are single, dating, engaged or married. I’m going on a date with my hubby to a restaurant and just chilling the rest of the night. He surprised me with some gifts from anthropologie – my favorite store.

Have a wonderful day! Love on someone today. Tell them how much they mean to you. Encourage someone. Try and do that every day. It will brighten your day when you see someone else smile.

Isn’t she cute?

I love this older lady in her fur coat with a hat on. I want to be this lady when I grow up. She is so cute!

This is the opening-night of “Bwana Devil” screening. It was the first 3-D colored movie. Back in 1952, at the Paramount Theater in Hollywood. I love history – it is so interesting.

I think it is so neat to see pictures of the past. There is so much knowledge you can gain when you study history. Do you like history?

B & W :: “dream about the stars”

I wonder how many stars exist?

Today is another hot summer day. Thinking about the cool of the night and looking up at the stars. I miss laying on the ground looking up at the stars.

I need to try and braid my hair this way sometime soon. I don’t know if I’m skillful enough to do it myself. Perhaps I need some help from a friend.

Are you going to take the time to look at the stars tonight?

I love that she is all dressed up and taking pictures. Don’t you just love those gloves?

Do you collect old cameras? My hubby and I have started to collect different types.

Fabric-1

I found this fabric and I fell in love with it. I’m obsessed with color and I know you all know this by now. It’s just that this fabric inspires me. It has such bold colors. It has a water color look. Not only is it awesome it’s even cooler because it’s handmade. Who doesn’t love handmade stuff, right?

image

You look at the blown up picture and you think it is just a water colored random design but then when you take a step back and look at the overall design, it’s a symmetrical pattern, which is sweet looking! You can see some of Shanan’s other fabrics here. You should also check out the whole website Eskayel. When I came across this fabric I thought deeper. I looked at it as if it was a piece of art (which it is since it is handmade. Ha!) and thought to myself how did she come up with that name for it? Madagascar?

I know I always make names for colors I’m working with or names for my artwork and there is meaning behind the assignment of each name. I am interested in other peoples artwork titles, fabric names, and color names. So this one is Madagascar – yeah… I had to go look it up. I knew it couldn’t be Madagascar the movie – which I love. Madagascar is an island country off of the southeast coast of Africa. You can read all about it here.

MY FIRST BLOG POST!

Hello!

I have decided to try blogging. I have been so fearful to step out and put my stuff up. (Who knows why… I have made it a bigger deal than it really is. I can come up with so many excuses.)  I feel like it would be as if someone is reading my diary and finding everything out about me. What makes me happy, sad, scared, and all the things I fear. I have realized that I just have to be be bold, step out, be my true to self, be who I am created to be, be unique. I have to be honest and put whatever out there so you can see who I am and what my heart is for. Obviously I will protect myself and keep some things private. I have figured out now that it doesn’t have to be a diary. Phew! I can make it whatever I want it to be.

I want this blog to be a place where people get inspired. I will put more pictures than written content, since I’m not a fabulous writer. I’m trying to relearn and practice writing. I have read so many wonderfully written blogs. Even the picture part scares me because I’m not a talented photographer… I’m an artist. With all that being said I’m going to take a stab at this. See where it goes. Here we go…

Rynndition is a mix of my nick name “Rynn” and the word rendition. I want to have a place where I can show others my viewpoint of how I see artwork through my eyes and other things that inspire me. I am putting my ideas out there. I’m going to do some DIY crafts, as well as teach others about interior design since I went to school for it (I don’t want it to go to waste). I’m going to show my love of color by expressing through each post. I’ll be able to show off my love of fashion through my daily outfits. This is a way I express myself.

A few things I love:

  • My Savior is first!
  • My husband second!
  • My family and friends are third!
  • To see young women set free, healed, & restored using creativity and teaching. (specifically girls from human trafficking)
  • Color
  • Fashion

Things I’m wanting to learn:

  • Snow skiing or snow boarding
  • Knitting
  • Quilting
  • Sewing
  • Baking (I need to get better at this)
  • Gardening

Here are a few things my blog will consist of:

  • Color posts
  • Fashion posts
  • Flower posts (All things floral)
  • Vintage things (I come from a long line of antiquers)
  • Styling posts
